yamaha jog electrical

So i bought a Yamaha jog for 200 not running, he said it was, and am in need of help. We tried jumping it but were unsuccessful. so heres the deal;

-kicker cogs are mashed
-The ignition yields a clear circuit
-The leads that the ignition corresponds to yields a large resistance (im guessing is the starter motor)
-The starter button yields a clear circuit
-The leads that the starter button corresponds to yields a close to clear circuit (.002)

any suggestions?
