Folks
Just a bit about our group. We are a spin off of the retired Scootercade group. When Bob retired scootercade after 18 years we felt people from the group needed a place to go.
Our first rally was a huge sucess. We had 149 registered attendee's. And 6 vendors. This year we are looking to build off of that. I've been to a few scooter rallies and I can honestly say is I've never seen such a varity of scooters as we had @ last years rally
Every scooter rider is welcome to attend our rally & participate in out forum http://scoottheozarks.proboards77.com/index.cgi
Every thing you want to know about us is there. The tenative rally Agenda is posted. Were going to have scooter games, A show n shine. Dinner nights, guieded rides & self guided rides.
Eureks Springs is a neat little historic town with a lot of beautiful senic, twisty curvy. roads surrounding it.
We would like to meet some new happy   scooter riders there.
I will also be periodically be posteing updates here.

Folks
Ian Gibb of twtouring is planning to come to our rally as a vendor this year.
TW touring offers a lot of scooter goodies such as Clearview, A full line up of GIVI products, (such as windshields, trunks etc). Protective chrome rails for scooters. Scooter caps. Various chrome goodies.
I purchased a chrome license plate frame with LED brake & running & turn signals lights. Very attractive unit on the back of my Burgman.
To check out his full line up of products you can go to
http://www.twtouring.com.
Ian will also take pre orders & bring your product to the rally for you.

Phyllis Huggett has volenteered to set up a hosptality table or room (whatever Chet can do for us) And also work on a flyer. We would like to get a flyer on our webpage so folks can copy it & put it up @ there local scooter shop.

Folks
As you can see Tressa has posted a tenative Rally Agenda.
In the past years the welcome dinner has been held at Sheridans Buffet.
Since last year the owner has passed away. And the future of the business is uncertain. I've heard reports of people moving equipment out of the building & the place is up for sale.
So we have made arrangements to have our welcome dinner @ Forest Hill Restaurant. (Buffet)
Charlie has spoken to the owner & they are glad to have us. They are going to shut down the restaurant this night for us. I belive (If my Memory is right) that they are going to have 5 meats on the Buffet for us.
They are also going to be vegaterian & vegan friendly.
I belive the cost is going to be 13.50 but mention Charlie & get 20 percent discount.
Will keep ya posted if anything changes here.

Folks
Pre registration is an important part of our rally. Not only does it pay the bills before the rally but gives us a count so we have an idea of how much food to order for the events.
This year we are going to have a twist to our pre-regestration.
Chet at the 1876 Inn has donated 4 one night stays for the rally.
This is how the raffle is going to work.
I am going to draw a person's name that is pre registered at the end of each month starting the end of April & ending the end of July for a free one nights stay.
If your name is picked you will still be in the drawing for future months. So if you are pre registered you could win more than once.
I will be contacting winners through the information you have given me on your forms.

I need volenteers to run the scooter games this year. Rack is not sure he can make the rally this year. Person's interested please contact me.

Spring is here in Central Wisconsin. I've rode a couple hundred miles already. Been raining alot to clean the roads.
Ya'll have a great Spring!!
Lou

Folks
Wandurlust RV Park is happy to have us returning to there park as the host campground.
Full hookup rate is 24.25 per night + tax. Tent sites are 20.00 per night + tax.
For those who haven't stayed there before. Its a nice park with CLEAN MODERN bathrooms. They are also offering free WI FI to those who need it.
We will also have use of the back meeting hall for the entire rally. So feel free to use it. We will be using it for our barbeque & final poker run destination on Saturday

Rally patches are in. You can order them from Clint on our webpage.

This year we won't be having armbands. We will instead have nametags so we won't have to remember names. :D

So far to my knowledge we have seven vendors committed to our Rally so far.

Congradulations to Doug & Penny Honningshead of Atkins AR. They are the April winners of the Pre Registration drawing for a free nights stay @ the 1876 Inn

I spoke with David Brasswell today. He is a freelance writer for four motorcycle magazines & operates this webpage http://www.cruisetheozarks.com/
He has asked ot come to our rally & take some pictures & do some writing. He may even take us on a ride.
He is also composeing a journal called "Touring Arkansas" And some of our pictures may end up in this.
He has also listed our rally on cruise webpage.

I went & had some neat name tags printed up today That will pin on & will be asked to wear during the rally. Instead of the arm bands.

Diane & I will be at the Iron Range Super Scooter Rally next week. I will be passing out flyers & have extra's for those who want some to post in their area.

The next pre registration drawing is in two weeks. So keep those registration's coming
Remember........You can't win if your not in!

Scooting The Ozarks 2009 was a great rally in spite of having to deal with on and off rain for 3 of the 4 days. Now STO staff is making plans and discussing ways to make STO 2010 even better.

The Third Annual Scooting The Ozarks Rally will be September 15 - 18, 2010 in beautiful Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Riders of all scooters, mopeds to maxi, classic or modern, are welcome. The host hotel for STO 2010 will be Traveler’s Inn.

Not many other details have been decided yet, but you can join STO’s forum (see signature), see photos and comments about STO 2009 to see how much fun everyone had, and add your suggestions. Now is the time to note the rally dates on your calendar to be sure there are no conflicts when September arrives.

As 2009 nears its end and you begin planning 2010, don’t for get to include Scooting the Ozarks, September 15-18, in your schedule.

A new addition to our agenda - we are going to have a DJ Dance / Karaoke night, Friday night, Sept. 17. We will dance awhile, sing awhile & just have fun! Our own EuGene Smith has volunteered to host this night. There will be NO extra charge for this event.

We have started a "Roll Call" thread here. I would like to encourage everyone who knows they’re coming to the rally to check in here. Just a fun thing & then you have an idea who’s coming & when.

As of January 1, 2010 Travelers Inn, STO's host hotel, has become an America’s Best Value Inn (no change in ownership since Aug. 31, 2009). Website http://www.travelersinn.com and phone numbers 479-363-6450 and 800-643-5566 remain the same. Also as of Jan. 1, they are closed for the winter season and remodeling. Therefore, there is no full-time office staff answering phones right now. You can make reservations on-line using the form on their website. Mention STO in the “comments” box, and be sure to include a phone number where you can be reached during the day so that they can call you (within 48 hours) to confirm the reservation. RESERVATIONS

STO Rally Coordinator/Director Lou Larson posted the following update this morning.
I'm happy to announce that The Jim Evans family will be catering our BBQ this year. Some of you may know Jim from past Scootercades. He did the BBQ's then. Jim is anxious to get back to doing this for us & looking forward to seeing some old friends & meeting new.
Jim will be serving us Pulled Pork, Smoked Chicken & BBQ Bologna with all the fixin's to go with it!

I have also made arrangements with Pizza Hut for catering out Pizza Night.
Both events will be served from the back hall building on the Travelers Grounds

I spoke with Jerry of the Travelers this morning & he informed me that their is only 14 rooms left @ the Travelers. So again I Highly suggest that if you know your going to come to STO 2010 & want to stay where the action is, Book your rooms NOW. Once the Travelers Is booked full. I will post other Lodging infromation. Jerry owns two other motels in Eureka & has offered the same $50.00 per night plus tax with no weekend rate hikes to ALL STO Rally attendee's at ALL of his motels.
Best way to reserve your room is through his webpage.
http://www.travelersinn.com/
He has a full staff to take your reservatitions.
I must also mention that Tressa & Myself have inspected one of Jerry's other Motels & have found it to also be clean quality rooms as the Travelers.

Pre registration's continue to out pace the previous years. If you have any doubts that I have not received yours. Feel free to E-Mail me @ silverbullet05@verizon.net and I will comfirm yours.

May News:

Not to much to report this month as most of the planning is in place and has already been posted.

We will be having our welcome dinner @ Forest Hill. Lou talked to the Manager and he is going to give us the preferred customer price of $10.89.

Remember, EVERYONE who is Pre-Registered & attending STO 2010 has a chance to win the NEW 2009 Red Kymko Agility Lanny is bringing up from Lanny’s Cycle World. Pre-register before September 1.

We have eight vendors lined up so far for STO 2010.

STO 2010 Rally shirts are now available from STO's Store. You can order on-line or by phone from CafePress. They accept credit cards or paypal.

Here is the June update from STO coordinator, Lou.
by Silver-Bullet » Fri Jun 11, 2010 2:07 pm
Terrible day outside here today so its a good oportunity to get some updates out.
Rally Registration.
Registration will be as it has been in the past. I have made arrangements with the management of Travelers to register you for the rally as you check in to your room. Even if you are not staying there you will register @ the front desk of the Hotel. You will pick up your nametags & your door prize tickets.
You will be required to show your nametag for Pizza Night & the BBQ. No nametag no eats.
I will have better nametags this year. So they won't be so easy to lose.
With 3 months to go to the rally, I can say this is going to be well attended this year. We have already surpassed the total number I had Pre registered from last year.
Tell a friend, This is going to be FUN! And someone is going home with a NEW 2009 Kymco Agility 125!
Thank You to all that have Pre registered & supported STO. Without you this couldn't happen.
