Hello all,

I have a La Vie from flyscooters and am interested in modifying from 150 to 200ccs. Does anything have experience with this and if so, has it worked out well for you? I am not mechanically inclined so most likely pay someone to do it. Is this possible? What are the drawbacks? Anyone know what costs are? Thanks for any info. you can offer.

i do custom work and i get picky about what i do and for who i do it
i would have to look at the kit itself and decide if i would put it on for some one who does not wrench why is that some kits take a bit more to a lot more maintance then stock and if you are not a wrencer i dont want you pissing and moaning to me that your scoots doesnt run right

with a bbk you can greatly reduce the reliablity of your scoot plus the fact that a lot of people think now i have more power i can realy beat the s**t out of it

if you are looking at having some one else do it you need to find some one who specialzes in scooters and scooter mods the average shop doesnt have enough skill to do some mods like bbks and get good results as there is much more then just bloting the parts on you have to tune the carb and the cvt

Nice up-gradation. Don't you think that kit is a bit costlier ? Sorry to bother..

I know this is a old thread but I have a couple questions about the subject of increasing displacement.
I'm coming from a car modifying background (mainly toyota supras, turbo's etc) and usually when you increase the volume you have to increase the fuel to cope with the larger volume of air.

Now with the big bore upgrade, I'm seriously looking into this type of upgrade. I have a PS150i with some mods. (exh, clutch, variator)

After I install this will I need to change fuel injector to cope with the 25% increase in volume?

If so where can I get the injector from? A injector from a bigger capacity motor?

Any answers will be greatly appreciated

all right well it depends upon the fi system and i havene even seen that bike in person yet

on carbed scoots we either rejet or bigger carb

as for the fi scoots it depends upon whats out there for that scoot
and what the fi system is in it
there may be a power comander
or some thing along the lines of the two brothers juice box
maybe just a bigger injector will do for the zuma 125 there is an after market injector that a lot of guys use and dont have to worry about manipulating the fuel program

 My absolute favorite car of all time. Had an '88 in perfect shape about 9 years ago and wished I'd never sold it. I almost bought a MKIV a couple months ago... It was Baltic Blue 6spd, 67mm single, low miles and in prestine condition with all kinds of other upgrades for only 25k. Someone beat me to it though. The ad was only up for maybe 24hrs before it sold. I'm still looking though :)

Thanks for the info mkjr72.
I have done more research and found I will have to bore the case to accept the larger liner. there is also some conflicting info regarding the 200cc kits. Some claim its only 180cc, not 200cc. I'll need to do the math and work out the volumes.
My friend has a Malossi cyl kit and has gone to 170 or 180cc. He also installed a bigger cam.

Although there are millions of scoots here there are few upgrade parts for my model. Most of them play with the 4sp 110cc honda wave motors and bore out to 150cc or the serious ones have Mio's with upto 300cc's engines!! :screwy:
The bike is made by Honda in Italy.

Today I pulled the back fairings off and gave it a nice scrub down. Lots of dirt stuck up inside the back from when I try and do motocross with it :p

mjhoward Back in Oz I used to have a black mica (looked like coca cola in the sun with the brown tinge) 1990 widebody Aerodeck imported from Japan. Had her for over 6yrs. (1999 - 2006)
Closest thing to KITT from nightrider I could afford. A japanese Trans Am ;) Sadly she went up in flames thanks to some a$$hole carthieves.
I went through 3X 7m's, and 3 a340e auto box's until I converted to R154 5sp.

The last motor I built had JE 40", JE Gas Nitrided top ring, ARP rod, head bolts, main studs, Cometic 2mm mhg, I had the block decked, bored out each cyl to suit its own piston, tunnel honed the mains. Everything was back to 0 so I had a nice baseline.Rods shotpeened and linished, all rotating parts balanced. (She was so smooth idling and sounded different to the other motors I had built previously.)
Garret gt3040 with Turbosmart 45mm pro gate, 600x300x100mm with 3" outlets intercooler and 3" pipework, 3" Trust/Greddy Turbo back exhaust, Blitz DSBC, Dual timer, Apexi SAFC2, AVO boost cut, Blitz airfilter, Lexus AFM, Tien coilovers, EBC Green stuff brake pads, Previously had Endless NA-Y's Awesome brakes but man the dust was unbelievable! Converted to R154 with 5puck brass/ceramic clutch with spring center, uprated pressure plate, Walbro fuel pump, J Pipe bypassed, Throttle body water heater bypass, Malpassi adjustable fuel press reg with autometer fuel psi gauge, Sard 550cc injectors, Autometer pro comp oil psi and turbo psi, B&M Super cooler oil cooler, remote oilfilter relocation kit, thermostatic valve.
Changed the jap 180kph speedo with a Australian model from 1986 with 260kph on the clock. All the tinkering done by me, except for the hard stuff which I got the workshop to do (wheel bearings etc)

Yeah she was a sweet ride. Just run in 6000km's on the new motor when I had dropped it off on Friday at the mech's shop as I had to fly away for work. It was parked inside the mechanics shop waiting to get tuned and dyno'd for 400hp@rwheels on a Monday. Sunday night bastards broke in and stole her, stripped and burnt her. I had to sue the workshop as insurance wasn't going to pay up. I had also just spent $5k the month before on getting the guards pumped, rear 3pc spoiler removed and holes smoothed over and resprayed.

I was able to salvage the motor, gbox from the burnt out shell. I was lucky it was burnt out from the firewall back.
I ended up giving the motor to a friend for his birthday who bought our 85 cressida with 7mgt engine. That cressida ran a 14.05 driven off the line with OD left engaged on a std 7mgt with hiflo ct26. After it blew its hg (after he overheated it) he slotted in the built motor.

Best car I ever had. I thought I had gotten over my "speed" addiction but it seems that I've replaced it with 2 wheels instead of 4.
